Khin Zar Naing used to be a Senior National Programme Officer worked with UNFPA Myanmar 2011-2018. She has international and national experiences for more than 19 years in I/NGO, UN system and Academic. Throughout the years, she has been as a strong policy advocate and a capacity development professional in the areas of gender equality, women’ empowerment, women rights, sexual and reproductive health & rights, GBV, population & development, and conflict analysis in community and national actions. She led the UNFPA conflict sensitivity team and creates networks for the ongoing consultation with a range of inter-faith organizations, youth and women’s groups; political parties; and ethnic and religious communities in different States/Regions since 2013. She involved in formulation of the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2013-2022), the Gender Equality and Women’s Rights in Myanmar: A Situation Analysis, and the Government’ 4th & 5th CEDAW Combined Report. She has been serving as a core technical member for the Protection and Prevention of Violence Against Women Law (PoVAW). She holds Master degree in Gender and Development Studies in Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. She is currently leading the SEGRI as Managing Director.
